Patriot Day 2026 VFWHQ Commemorative Event

Twenty-five years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the VFW National Headquarters gathered in Kansas City, Missouri, to remember the lives lost and honor the courage, compassion and sacrifice shown that day and in the years that followed. During the Patriot Day commemoration, candles represented the individuals whose lives were cut short, while remarks honored their families, survivors, first responders and recovery workers. Twenty-five years later, we remember their stories and reaffirm a promise that has endured for a quarter century: We will never forget.
