Remembering the Women Who Supported D-Day

In Normandy, France, VFW National Commander Carol Whitmore joined the all-female parachute team @FOXFORCEFOUNDATION to commemorate the courageous women who parachuted into occupied Europe in support of the Allied invasion during World War II. Although weather conditions prevented the commemorative jump, the event served as a powerful tribute to the British, Canadian, and French women whose bravery and sacrifice helped make D-Day possible. It also celebrated the service and leadership of women veterans who continue to serve today. Today and every day, the VFW salutes America's women veterans.
